Accessorising Your Garden Table

Tuesday February 16, 2010

When it comes to buying a new garden table it is understandable that you should want to spend a long time looking for the best one you can find. You will have a budget to stick to and you may also have a reasonable idea of what you want to find.

But don’t just focus on getting a garden table. Think about other ways that you can make it fit in beautifully when you bring it into your garden for the first time. As you will see, accessorising is just as important as getting the main items of furniture.

You can start off by getting some seat cushions for your garden chairs. If you do this try and find some that have a matching table cloth available as well. This will tie the whole set in together and it can also soften the look of the table so that it will appear more appealing.

This is quite an obvious way to personalise and accessorise your garden table – even if you have one at the moment that you want to jazz up in some way. For example you may have an old wooden table with a burn mark on it. While you are shopping around for a new table why not buy a cheap tablecloth to cover the old one with?

There are other things you can do as well though. For example why not think about getting some lights for the parasol? These are available in two broad types. Some of them are designed to be hung at the centre of the parasol and then fan out in strings along the poles. If you go for this set make sure you have enough strings in the set to fit along your particular parasol.

Alternatively you can buy a simple string of lights that can be arranged however you choose on your parasol. Either way you will find it a superb source of light during the summer evenings once the sun has gone down.

Think about adding some candles to the table as well. Provided they are sitting in suitable holders so the tablecloth or table is not in danger of being scorched or burnt, they will provide another light source as well as looking very nice.

So you see you have a lot to think about when you buy a new garden table. How will yours look by the time you have dressed it?
